One of my favorite time of year to visit New Mexico is autumn. The light is clear, the air is crisp, and you can almost always hear the elk calling during the rut. I was really trying to capture the oncoming winter atmosphere in this piece and note the final glimpse of autumn folliage before the frost carries it away.
